In the early 1980s, Evelyn Steenbock initiated a program to endow a series of prestigious professorships in the natural sciences, in honor of her late husband Harry Steenbock, emeritus professor of Biochemistry. Recipients are nominated by UW–Madison departments or groups of three or more individual faculty, and income from the endowments supports research costs and/or released time for research.
We are pleased to announce Marina Emborg, MD, PhD, has received the Steenbock Professorship in Behavioral and Neural Sciences. This appointment will run through June 30, 2035.
“The Department of Medical Physics is thrilled to see Dr. Emborg recognized for her outstanding work on understanding and developing treatments for neurological disorders,” says Interim Department Chair Michael Speidel. “The prestigious Steenbock Professorship in the Behavioral and Neural Sciences is a well-deserved honor and will support Dr. Emborg’s continued commitment to discovery through interdisciplinary and collaborative research. Congratulations, Marina!”
