Welcome

One of the many aspects of scientific and medical research is the need for specialized hardware. The nature of modern research requires a vast array of type, size and complexity in the design of this hardware, some of which can be assembled from off the shelf items. Frequently, adaptation of this hardware requires the services of a facility with unique capabilities.

The Department of Medical Physics Machine Shop is a service design and fabrication shop staffed with experienced craftsmen and machinery. Its use of CNC machine tools and Solid Works software allows the ability to produce complex designs in a wide variety of materials in a timely and cost effective manner. The shop works directly from blueprints and/or drawings provided by customers. The shop’s full-time machinist will also take ideas from individuals and engineer their particular needs. The shop’s diverse capabilities can serve the entire university, from simple to complex in the scientific, medical, mechanical and artistic disciplines.

I have a passion for technology and enjoy supporting end users. Solving problems is what I do best and I get great satisfaction knowing I am helping people to become more efficient in their work. My IT skills, combined with my design and machining skills, give me the ability to create computer controlled fixtures, if needed.
