In partnership with the Department of Radiology, the Section of Clinical Imaging Physics (SCIP) supports our joint mission of collaboration and clinical excellence. Faculty in the SCIP provide technical expertise, optimization, troubleshooting, acceptance testing, and quality assurance in clinical environments.
Our Imaging Physics Residency is a key component of the clinical mission. Residents are offered comprehensive clinical, technical, and professional physics education and training to enable graduates to perform independently as clinical medical imaging physicists. Upon graduation, residents will be prepared for ABR board certification exams and for professional careers as qualified medical physicists in clinical-academic settings, clinical imaging practices, in imaging physics consulting groups, or in the medical imaging device industry.
