Position title: Clinical Imaging Physics Resident

Vijay Sharma, PhD, is a medical physics resident with a background in experimental physics. He has gained research and teaching experience across the United States, Europe, and Mexico. His professional work includes Monte Carlo simulations and testing of radiation and particle detectors.

He has been involved in advanced technologies such as gamma imaging for proton therapy and has received research recognition from the University of Maryland. He has also received research support and awards from CONACYT in Mexico, INFN in Italy, and NordForsk in Sweden.

He has experience developing and testing new imaging methods and working with hospital systems, radiation and particle detectors, and large computing clusters. His interests include image reconstruction and non invasive methods for cancer care and radiation safety.

Dr. Sharma is actively involved in research that connects physics with clinical applications, with the goal of improving imaging, safety, and cancer treatment.
