Fall 2021 Updates

Here’s what you can expect in the coming weeks:

• Effective August 30, employees and students who have not shared proof of COVID-19 vaccination with UHS will be required to test weekly on campus.

Everyone must wear masks indoors on campus, in accordance with UW and Dane County Health policies

• University Health Services is offering additional doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine to immunocompromised students, beginning August 23, 2021

• If you are not immunocompromised and you received two doses of an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna), the federal government announced that some individuals will be eligible for a booster shot beginning Sept. 20. The university is reviewing this announcement and will share more information as it becomes available.

There are no recommendations for a booster vaccine for those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

If you have not been vaccinated against Covid-19, vaccines are available at NO COST through University Health Services. All students and employees are urged to get vaccinated if they are able and to upload a vaccination record to their MyUHS portal.

The best way for us to all stay safe this semester is to follow the existing Covid-19 protocols: wear masks, avoid high-risk social activities (such as off-campus parties, and bars), get vaccinated, and stay home if you feel sick. Together we can work together to keep each other safe, and ensure we can continue to enjoy an in-person academic year!
