Increased acquisition speed is a constant goal of MRI research. In this talk we will discuss two developments to improve the speed of an MRI acquisition. First, we will describe how one can modify the GRAPPA parallel imaging recontruction framework to more optimally work with radial acquisitions. We show the applications of this method to real-time, non-gated, free breathing cardiac imaging. Second, we will discuss ways in which one can exploit an atlas of prior images to improve the speed and quality of an MR acqusition with a special focus on longitudinal anatomical imaging.
